Ruby has been asking for a puppy. I reminded her that we have three cats in our house. She replied that the cats don't count because they are not her pets and they resolutely refuse to be 'trained' by her. I had to say no, there is just no way a dog would fit into our home and lifestyle. Ruby was not happy about this, mumbled something about running away to live in The White House, and went off somewhere to pout.
